Play-Along Tutorial
1. Log into GuitarGames.net and go to Super Scale Trainer.
2. Choose “Basic” for your difficulty level.
3. Choose “Guitar” for your instrument view.
4. Choose “Play-Along” for the activity and “position” mode in 5th position.
5. Do not select “Songs”.
6. Choose “A” for the root and “Minor Pentatonic” for the scale. (Normally you would want to pick more than one scale and/or root.)
7. The “Play-Along” screen should come up.
8. Get your guitar ready and prepare yourself to play the scale. Click on “Play” or press the “S” key (That's “S” as in Start / Stop). You should hear a count off and then the scale as the notes are highlighted. 9. Select “Up & Down” from the “Direction” category.
10. Click on “Play” or press the “S” key. This time the scale is played up and then returns back down.
11. Select “Skip” from the “Patterns” category.
12. Click on “Play” or press the “S” key. The scale now skips notes and fills them in. You may want to watch this one before playing along.
13. Return to the “Menu”.
14. Select “Songs” and choose “Blues in C”.
15. Click on “Start”. Choose "start on root" and then click “Play”. You will then hear and see the Scale Trainer play all the arpeggios for the blues in C starting on the lowest root. This is a great way to practice for improvising on the blues! Feel free to play along.
